The minor in Writing helps students learn the craft of imaginative writing. Classes in poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, drama, and screenwriting help you develop your literary skills and express your ideas. The skills you'll develop in this minor will help prepare you for a career in publishing, editing, education, journalism, or any profession that values written communication.

In order to earn a minor in Writing, you must complete:
- a 200-level writing course (ENGL 200, 202, 205, or 206)
- ENGL 328: The Language of Literary Art
- 12 credits of 400-level creative writing courses for a total of 20 credits.
